Sandcross Primary School

Inspiring Lifelong Success

Pupil Outcomes

As a school, we recognise that good education is not just about test results, as they do not provide a full picture of each child. They do not tell us about their achievements in the arts, in sports or in developing good character. However, they can provide a general indication of how well a school is doing. So every year, Sandcross school leaders scrutinise the test results we achieve and look to see how we can improve the provision we are offering our children. Our work to further improve the school can be seen in our School Development Plan.

At Sandcross, we assess children regularly as they move through the school, both within lessons and through more formal testing. Teachers and senior leaders monitor progress carefully as children move through the school. Our expectation is for all our children to reach or exceed the standards expected nationally for their age and to make good progress in every class. We also note and are proud of our children’s other achievements – we have very successful sports teams, including in cricket and football, our choir have won many competitions and pupils are often very successful in other competitions and exams for art, writing, public speaking, music, drama and so on.

Children's achievement is assessed nationally through testing in Reception, Year 1 (Phonics only), in Year 2 and in Year 6. Our results can be seen in the documents below.

NB: The Government have advised that they will not be publishing the 2021/2022 data  on the performance tables site. The next set of data will be for 2022/23
