At Sandcross Primary School and Nursery, we believe that wearing our school uniform helps children feel a sense of belonging, pride and identity within our school community.

We are committed to ensuring that our uniform is practical, comfortable and affordable for all families. Wherever possible, parents and carers can purchase plain, non-branded uniform items from any retailer.

Compulsory Uniform and Branded Items

Most items of school uniform can be purchased from any retailer and do not need to display the Sandcross logo.

The following items are required to have the Sandcross school logo:

• School jumper or cardigan – a Sandcross-branded jumper or cardigan is required as part of the school uniform.

• PE hoodie – where a PE hoodie is required under the uniform policy, this must be the Sandcross-branded version.

School tie: The school tie must meet the design specified in our Uniform Policy. Please refer to the policy for the applicable requirements.

All other uniform items may be purchased as plain, non-branded alternatives, provided they meet the colours and styles outlined in our Uniform Policy.

Parents and carers are not required to purchase non-branded items from our named uniform suppliers.

Optional and Seasonal Uniform

Our Uniform Policy explains the uniform options available throughout the school year, including any seasonal alternatives.

Where an item is described as optional, families can choose whether to purchase it. Optional items are not compulsory.

We encourage families to use the permitted uniform options that are most practical, comfortable and affordable for their child.

Plain, non-branded items can be purchased from supermarkets, high-street shops, online retailers or second-hand sources, provided they meet the school's uniform requirements.

Preloved and Second-Hand Uniform

We recognise that purchasing school uniform can be expensive, particularly for families with more than one child.

The Friends of Sandcross aim to hold Preloved Uniform Sales and Uniform Donation Days termly, giving families the opportunity to purchase good-quality second-hand uniform at a reduced cost.

Dates and times are shared through school communications and class representatives.

We also welcome donations of clean, good-quality uniform that children have outgrown.
